I would think there would be a more accessible shut off valve, even if it meant turning water off for that entire floor and/or wing of the hotel. It was a surprise how long it took for the water to be turned off once the staff of the hotel was notified of the situation. Our room was on the 10th floor, next door to the room that experienced a burst pipe that flooded the hallway at 130am on a Sunday.
